Spicy Asian Steak Stir Fry with Sriracha Sauce – what you need:
2x Steaks of your choice – here I have used Sirloin for a combination of leaner meat and flavour.
2x large spring onions – chopped/sliced.
1x yellow bell pepper – cut into chunks.
1x large red chilli – sliced.
1/2 a small cabbage or greens – shredded/sliced.
1x clove garlic – peeled and crushed.
1x thumb size piece of ginger – peeled and finely shredded.
1x tablespoon ground nut oil.
2x tablespoons oyster sauce.
1x tablespoon light soy sauce.
2x tablespoons Sriracha chilli sauce.
1x heaped teaspoon garlic powder.
1x heaped teaspoon onion powder.
Toasted sesame oil.
Sea salt and black pepper.
Wok.
Griddle pan or BBQ or large frying pan.
Spicy Asian Steak Stir Fry with Sriracha Sauce – what you need to do:
1. Firstly coat the steaks in the garlic powder, onion powder, a pinch of salt/pepper and a little toasted sesame oil and cook for 1-2 minutes each side (depending on how you like it) on a very hot griddle pan, BBQ or large frying pan. Remove from heat and leave to one side on a warm plate or board, covered loosely with foil – make sure you keep all the juices!
2. Heat the wok over a high heat then add the ground nut oil followed by the spring onion, yellow pepper, red chilli, cabbage/greens, ginger and garlic. Cook for approx. 2 minutes until the stir fry starts to soften, stirring continuously to avoid burning.
3. Now add the oyster sauce, soy sauce and Sriracha sauce and cook for a further 1-2 minutes to coat all the ingredients in the flavours.
4. Finally, slice the steak into thin strips (against the grain) and stir into the wok with the rest of the stir fry and serve.
Delicious!
